Equestrian Grounds Terms
Horse Riding on the Beach
- Please be aware the Beach adjoining the grounds is also a Dog Leash free Beach. Most people are highly considerate of the horses, however its worthwhile taking the time to stop until they are called back to their owners.
- We share the beach with other users and wildlife. Be friendly and courteous to other people on the beach, and give them plenty of space. Don’t ride too fast or too close to anyone, and slow down or stop when passing by.
- No riding in the dunes. The dunes are fragile ecosystems that provide habitat for many plants and animals. They also protect the beach from erosion and flooding.
- Single file over the bridge. The bridge is a narrow and potentially slippery structure that connects the campground to the beach. Be careful of pedestrians and cyclists who may also use the bridge.
- Check the tides for the best time to ride. The best time to ride on the beach is around low tide, when the sand is firmer. Sunrise and Sunset rides are highly recommended.
- Horses must be always under control. Riding on the beach can be a fun and exciting activity for you and your horse, but it also requires some safety and responsibility.
